8TH Annual Conference Draws Over 400 Top Engineers to Granite City

Tomorrow over 400 geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, reservoir engineers, petroleum engineers, production technologists, well engineers and drilling engineers will meet at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) in Aberdeen, United Kingdom to attend the 8th annual DEVEX Conference and Exhibition.

Paul Adair, DEVEX 2011 Conference Chair says, “It is my honour to be chairing DEVEX 2011, which in its 8th year has gone from strength to strength and is now firmly established as the conference where high quality, cross-discipline solutions to field development are actively shared. We look forward to building on the success of this annual event.”

He adds, “This year’s theme “Sharing Solutions for Mature Basin Development” has drawn more than 40 high quality presentations addressing the range of challenges that face the development of mature basins. One of the great strengths of a DEVEX conference programme is that it has something for everyone with a wide balance of case histories, technological challenges and more specialised studies of benefit to DEVEX delegates. Operators, suppliers and academia are presenting new learnings of benefit to the global oil field. Although some of these may not fit in with everyone’s disciplines; I’m sure there’s something new for everyone to learn!”

The conference will feature Keynote presentations from some of the world’s leading experts in the field: Leo Koot, Managing Director, TAQA Bratani and Martin Rune Pedersen, Managing Director, Maersk Oil UK.

Alongside the oral communications the event will feature a series of technical poster presentations as well as a commercial exhibition comprising of 25 companies. A “Young Professionals” event will also take place in conjunction with DEVEX 2011 on Thursday 12th May focusing on the theme “Drilling Through The Divide: How does leadership apply to Technical Disciplines?”.
