A Royal Hat Trick for Simpson’s!

Landmark Aberdeen hotel, bar and restaurant Simpson’s is preparing to mark the Royal Wedding in style with a day of special events.

With big screen coverage, a special menu and a competition for the best hat, Simpson’s will ensure that April 29th is a day to remember.

To mark the occasion, the Queens Road venue will show full coverage of the wedding on the big screen from 10am and a special Royal Wedding menu will feature smoked salmon with asparagus crowns, collops of beef Balmoral with Duchesse potatoes and seasonal vegetables, rounded off with Queen of Puddings.

And to make sure the momentous day is celebrated in style, female patrons are invited to don their wedding outfits and a free glass of bubbly will be served to every lady who wears a hat on the day.

A competition for the best hat will take place between 10am and 11am and will be judged by prominent local artist Hazel McAllister BA (Hons). Up for grabs will be dinner for two at Simpson’s, plus a bottle of champagne.

Commenting on the plans, Simpson’s manager Caroline Graham said: “Royal Weddings always bring people together and create a party atmosphere so we are looking forward to a fun day.”

Simpson’s is owned by local businessmen Jonathan Harper, Timothy Philpot and Michael Cochrane and run in conjunction with sister company Kepplestone Manor which offers nearby luxury serviced apartments.

Simpson’s is located at 59 Queens Road, Aberdeen and further information is available on www.simpsonshotel.co.uk or by calling (01224) 327777.
