Aberdeen Business School plays host to European entrepreneurship conference

The Centre for Entrepreneurship at Robert Gordon University’s Aberdeen Business School is currently hosting the 6th European Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship until 16 September.

The academic conference will provide a setting for new research themes and collaborations to emerge and prosper, welcoming a wide range of academics from all over the world to discuss topics including entrepreneurship education, innovation techniques, social entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship across the world.

The renowned conference, which has previously been held overseas in countries including Greece and Belgium, has chosen the city of Aberdeen and RGU to share the latest thinking on entrepreneurial theory and practice supported by keynote speakers and presentations.

The conference features two keynote addresses with the first being delivered by Professor Alistair Anderson from the Centre for Entrepreneurship followed by Professor Cam Donaldson, who holds the Yunus Chair in Social Business and Health at Glasgow Caledonian University.

Research features significantly in the conference, with papers presented by researchers from over 40 countries as well as from RGU staff and doctoral students from the Centre for Entrepreneurship. A Doctoral Colloquium will also take place, led by Dr Heather Fulford and Dr Simon Fraser, providing doctoral students with the opportunity to present, discuss and receive feedback on their research, and also to network with fellow doctoral candidates from around the world.

Heather Fulford, from The Centre for Entrepreneurship and Programme Chair said, “It is a privilege for the Centre for Entrepreneurship to host this strategic conference which presents us with an exciting opportunity to meet and learn from leading researchers in entrepreneurship and innovation from across the globe, and to explore possibilities for further international research collaborations.”
