ABERDEEN COCKTAIL BAR TO DONATE BIRTHDAY PARTY PROCEEDS TO CLAN CANCER SUPPORT

An Aberdeen-based cancer support charity is set to benefit from donations given during a local cocktail bar’s birthday celebrations.

To celebrate the bar’s 2nd birthday, Orchid will be hosting a pink themed evening on Friday, October 21. During the celebration the venue will be hosting a number of fundraising activities, during which time guests will be encouraged to make a donation to CLAN Cancer Support.

Located on Langstane Place, Orchid, famous for its innovative cocktails and glamorous atmosphere first opened its doors in October 2009.

Managing director, Ben Iravani has been a key long-term supporter of CLAN Cancer Support helping the charity in a number of different ways.

He said: “This is a great chance for people to get together and wind down on a Friday night after a hectic week at work while raising money for a great cause.

“We have had an amazing two years in business and we really wanted to take this chance to thank everyone for their support while taking the opportunity to do what we can to support such an inspirational local charity which is close to so many people’s hearts.”

Susan Crighton, fundraising manager at CLAN Cancer Support said: “We are delighted that Orchid has chosen CLAN as the beneficiary of this milestone event. They have been fantastic supporters over the years and we are all very grateful for their continued support.”

CLAN Cancer Support is an independent charity which offers support to anyone affected by cancer. Based in Aberdeen, the charity covers the whole of Grampian, Orkney and Shetland. CLAN is also developing services in the community and now has a presence in Ballater, Inverurie, Peterhead, Stonehaven, Orkney and Shetland.
