Aberdeen Employees Take on ‘12 Days to Christmas’ fundraising challengeIn a bid to raise money for selected charities Dreams Come True and JDRF, every month in 2012 one employee from Aberdeen-based Media and Communications Agency AVC Media Enterprises, will face a fear as part of a “12 days to Christmas” Facebook campaign. Launching tomorrow [13th December 2011], the campaign will see the fates of various employees handed over to the followers of the AVC Facebook page. One employee will be featured each day for the next 12 days, with followers being able to cast their vote over a 24-hour period and decide what fear they would like the certain employee to face.
Brainchild of the fundraising effort and Marketing Manager at AVC, Stacey Summers tell us more “AVC staff are well known for their crazy stunts and extreme efforts to fundraise for charity, whether its skydiving out a plane at 10,000 feet or running the New York Marathon as a marathon newbie. However, I wondered just how enthusiastic they would be if we challenged them to a fundraising task based on their own personal dislikes and fears”
“12 Days of Christmas will be AVC’s very own extreme version of the “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here” bush tucker trials! The fear the individuals will face next year will be left entirely down to the AVC Facebook followers ,with only them deciding how soft or mean they would like to be. To launch the competition we will be deciding the fate of our very own Managing Director Spencer Buchan”
“The chosen charities were decided upon following a group vote, and as such are very close to the hearts of us all. Despite everyone being very apprehensive, we all hope to not only fundraise a lot of money, but have a lot of fun in the process”
“To cast your vote and follow the progress of the various activities, please follow AVC on Facebook. Furthermore, information will also be shared across our website www.avcmedia.com”
If you are unfamiliar of either of the charities, you can find more information either at http://www.dctc.org.uk/ or http://www.jdrf.org.uk/ or by contacting Stacey Summers or ssummers@avcmedia.com. 129 views
