Abermed London celebrates its official opening

On Friday 01 July Abermed’s London unit enjoyed a celebration to mark its official opening. Staff from both Abermed and International SOS were there to join in the festivities as well as invited clients and contacts.

After guests had looked round the clinic, met the Abermed London Team and enjoyed a delicious lunch it was to time to mark the occasion formally. James Miller, Abermed’s Chairman and Chief Executive welcomed everyone and spoke about Abermed’s growth and stressed the importance of the company’s values and philosophy.

Ross Haworth, Abermed’s Managing Director talked about the company’s links with International SOS and how heartening it was that so many of Abermed’s corresponding colleagues at International SOS had come to the London Unit and offered their support and encouragement. Ross went on to introduce Abermed’s special guest International Rugby Union Star, Tom Palmer.

Tom Palmer described his career in Rugby Union and is currently taking part in a training camp for England players and is hoping to be  chosen to represent England in a forthcoming tour to New Zealand. Tom described some of the injuries he has picked up during his illustrious career and stressed how important good quality healthcare is to all sportsmen. He wished Abermed London lots of success and then unveiled the plaque which commemorates the day.

To round off the event guests were invited to join Abermed staff for a glass of champagne aboard the London Eye.It was wonderful to look across London on such a lovely day and it was possible to spot the Abermed Unit down in York Road.
