BP Forecasts Robust Global Energy Demand to 2030 Despite Efficiency Gains
Global energy demand will continue to grow over the next twenty years, albeit at a slowing annual rate, fuelled by economic and population growth in non-OECD countries. Increased energy efficiency and strong growth for renewable energy are also forecast in BP’s latest Energy Outlook 2030, which is published today.

City street closes for emergency repairs
A city centre street has been closed to allow the council to carry out urgent repairs.
Bon Accord Street, near the Ferryhill House Hotel, closed today (17 January) shortly after 10am to allow for work to be carried out repairing the damaged road surface.
The road will remain closed to traffic in both direction for the duration of today and much of tomorrow. Access to properties will be maintained.
Work is expected to be completed and the road reopened at 4pm tomorrow (18 January).

The Aberdeen City Alcohol & Drug Partnership (ADP), hosted an alcohol 'stocktake' event in October 2011 at the AECC. Its purpose was to review the existing ADP alcohol strategy (launched in Dec 2009) and allow further examination of the outcomes from the associated action plan. A key area that was subsequently highlighted was the need to ensure that Aberdeen businesses have access to appropriate alcohol advice, guidance and support.
