AIRLINE INTRODUCES MORE FLIGHTS FROM ABERDEEN

Additional flights from Aberdeen Airport to Leeds Bradford and Bristol have been launched today (Monday 3 October 2011) by Eastern Airways, offering business and leisure travellers an even greater choice of services.

The number of flights has been increased from two to three each weekday to meet demand from passengers travelling between Leeds Bradford, Bristol and Aberdeen, from which airport Eastern Airways operates more flights than any other carrier.

The airline also recently increased weekday flights to three a day on the popular Aberdeen-Stavanger route.

From Monday, weekday flights to Leeds Bradford and Bristol now leave Aberdeen at 6.50am, 11.30am (Mon-Wed), 3pm (Thu-Fri) and 5pm.

Flights from Bristol to Aberdeen depart at 6.45am, 12.05pm (Mon-Wed), 1.45pm (Thu-Fri), and 5.15pm (Mon-Wed) and 6pm (Thu-Fri).

Leeds Bradford flights to Aberdeen take off at 8.10am, 1.30pm (Mon-Wed), 3.15pm (Thu-Fri), 6.50pm (Mon-Wed), 7.30pm (Thu-Fri).

Business links will be strengthened with the additional services as Leeds is a cosmopolitan city and Yorkshire’s capital, with offshore and finance links to Aberdeen, while Bristol is the largest commercial centre in the south-west of England with business links to Aberdeen including offshore, finance and construction sectors.

Kay Ryan, Eastern Airways’ commercial director, said: “Business travellers will benefit from our greater frequency of lights as they have more flexibility and choice and can do a day’s business before returning on the same day. Our conveniently timed services are by far the quickest way to get to Yorkshire and south-east England and save valuable time compared to ground transport alternatives.”

Aberdeen Airport’s managing director Derek Provan said: “It is encouraging news to hear of more rotations being added by our carriers to meet the demands of the passengers. This route is one which carries both business and leisure passengers and I am delighted that it has been so successful for Eastern Airways.”

Eastern Airways is consistently one of the UK’s most punctual scheduled airlines and has been operating from Aberdeen for over 13 years.

The regional airline has a fleet of 30 aircraft flying from 21 airports in the UK, Ireland, Norway and France.

Passengers flying with the airline are not charged for check-in, baggage, choice of seat or onboard drinks and snacks. Check-in closes just 20 minutes before the departure time and all passengers can use the dedicated fast track security channel at Aberdeen and Bristol airports to avoid any queues.
