AN EVENING WITH COLIN MONTGOMERIEGolf fans will hear the incredible story behind Colin Montgomerie’s 2010 dramatic Ryder Cup triumph at Celtic Manor at an event held in Aberdeen next week. Interviewed by friend and sports commentator Dougie Donnelly, Monty will give the inside track on his Ryder Cup selection, team tactics and how he motivated his victorious players, as well as anecdotes from his 24 years playing top-level professional golf. All proceeds from the evening will go to Monty’s Maggie’s Appeal to build a Maggie’s Cancer Care Centre for people in the north and north-east of Scotland. The centre at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary will provide free practical and emotional care to anyone affected by cancer. An Evening with Colin Montgomerie will take place on Tuesday 5 July at the Music Hall, Aberdeen at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £30 for adults and £20 for juniors, are available from Aberdeen Box Office. Monty’s Maggie’s Appeal is jointly run by the Elizabeth Montgomerie Foundation and Maggie’s Centres, with the aim of raising £3million to fund the Aberdeen centre and cover the first two years’ running costs.
