ASCO’S 2012 GRADUATE SCHEME RECEIVES RECORD NUMBER OF EARLY APPLICATIONSGraduate jobs at world’s leading oil and gas logistics company are in high demand. ASCO, the world’s leading oil and gas logistics company, has reported that it has received a record number of early applications for its 2012 UK graduate scheme; which doesn’t close for applications until the end of February. The increased demand may be fuelled by a widely reported reduction in graduate recruitment across the UK in recent years and the subsequent increase in the number of graduates seeking employment. ASCO’s UK graduate programme has also increased in popularity due to the unique experience it provides recruits. 2011 Aberdeen University graduate, Louise Waddell, who studied Law and French Law, joined the ASCO graduate scheme last year. “The ASCO graduate scheme is becoming more popular year-on-year and I can see why. It provides an amazing opportunity to work within a fast-growing international oil and gas company, obtain real business experience across a number of disciplines and work towards a recognised industry qualification. At the end of the 2-year programme you can then go into a more specialist role within the company with a great base knowledge of the whole business and the industry.” ASCO has been recruiting graduates on an annual basis for a number of years now. Its UK programme caters for graduates from a range of academic backgrounds, a rarity in the oil and gas industry where many graduate programmes are focused on technical/engineering qualifications. 2012 ASCO graduate recruits will join the company in Summer 2012 and will initially be based in one of the company’s UK offices in locations which include Aberdeen, Peterhead and Great Yarmouth. Applications close on 28th February with more details to be found on the company’s website. Louise adds: “Strong leadership, innovation, analytical, teamwork and communication skills are essential. ASCO is looking for candidates to show a real enthusiasm and interest in the ASCO business, to do their homework and be able to demonstrate that in their application.” 121 views
