Atlas launches 50 new courses for office and shore based health and safetyInternational learning and skills specialist Atlas has significantly grown its content library with the launch of a new suite of 50 office and shore based health and safety courses for the oil and gas industry and other safety critical industries. Targeted at workers engaged in onshore activities and office based tasks, the suite draws together 50 market-leading training courses covering the key areas of yard and warehouse safety; catering and food safety; and office and general wellbeing. Last year, 26.4 million working days were lost due to work-related illness and workplace injury, which on average costs society an estimated £14 billion each year. Developed to meet industry demand, this move is a significant investment by Atlas into broadening the scope of its content library, which now offers more than 200 courses tailored for the oil and gas and other safety-critical industries. “Safety is the principal concern in every area of the oil and gas industry's activities. There is a large focus and investment by companies on offshore operations however ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of employees engaged in shore based and office activities is equally paramount; a key part of the induction and training strategies of most of the oil and gas companies that Atlas is working with,,” said Atlas CEO John Rowley. “Atlas has therefore addressed the needs of our clients by bringing together, for the first time, an extensive range of the leading market courses, providing oil and gas organisations with a comprehensive package designed to meet all their office and shore based health and safety requirements. “It not only demonstrates our desire to increase the scope of our services and build an appropriate content library for our clients, it also reinforces our commitment to delivering long term value for the oil and gas sector.” The launch of the office and shore based health and safety suite reinforces Atlas’ position as a leading provider of innovative learning, compliance and competency workforce solutions, supporting the company’s target of doubling sales in the next three years. Aberdeen-headquartered Atlas has transformed itself following private equity investment from HG Capital in 2007. Since then, the business has experienced significant growth and expansion across priority international regions and market sectors. In the last two years, its client base has increased from over 150 to more than 750 companies worldwide, employment has risen by 80% and its export sales now represent over 40% of its sales. 82 views
