AVC announced as official media partner for The Reading Bus initiative Apardion, A Leopard’s Quest

AVC Media Enterprises, leading provider of integrated communication solutions, is delighted to announce its appointment as the official media partner for The Reading Bus’ fifth published book “Apardion, A Leopard’s Quest”.

This recently launched book tells the tale of a spirit from the Northern Lights who visits Aberdeen to discover if this might be his birth place. On his travels he visits 14 heritage landmarks and discovers secrets from the past. Education initiative, The Reading Bus will work in partnership with 14 different schools (one for each site Apardion visits) to promote reading as a source of life-long pleasure and encourage family learning in a non-school environment.

AVC Media Enterprises as media partner for Apardion, A Leopard’s Quest will develop the website and app, as well as provide use of AVC audiovisual equipment, use of its Business Centre, and give advice and support in the delivery of the films, animations and podcasts. The finished website and app will be available in June 2012.

Spencer Buchan, Director of AVC, tells us more about the partnership “We are delighted to be appointed as media partner for this fantastic initiative. From a media company perspective, we believe that it is essential for children to engage in all forms of communication from a young age, enabling them to progress essential life skills for both social and academic development. To be a part of this initiative means that we are able to lend our expertise, whilst also sharing knowledge with the younger generation as we work in partnership with other organisations to create a common good for our city.”

“The Reading Bus will work closely with the whole AVC team, benefiting from the high levels of experience and expertise across the full marketing spectrum, which includes graphic design, digital media, PR, social media and mobile application development.”

“The Apardion, A Leopard’s Quest app and website are both currently under development to support the upcoming book launch. The app will feature GPS facilities to navigate users around the 14 landmarks featuring within the story whilst the website will serve as an extended learning tool to readers of the book, storing a hub of information on each of the landmarks that can be enjoyed by everyone from school children to visitors to Aberdeen.”

“With our help, I believe we can elevate the quality of all the media output relating to the project, and enhance the work of the 8.000 local students that will be directly involved in the project. I look forward to seeing the final outcome!”
