AVC MEDIA ENTERPRISES ACQUIRES THE PURCHASING HOUSE

Aberdeen-based AVC Media Enterprises Ltd, has today (4 May, 2011) announced that it has acquired local corporate work wear and gift business, The Purchasing House.

The move, which will see this division of AVC renamed The Purchasing House @ AVC, is predicted to generate an additional half a million pounds worth of turnover per annum for the media and communications agency, and will see the five members of The Purchasing House team move to AVC.

The Purchasing House @ AVC will build on the AVC portfolio, allowing the agency to expand on the current range of brand communication services offered to its client base.

This new offering from AVC will give corporate clients access to a quality supply of corporate goods and promotional items along with a full Personal Protection Equipment catalogue (PPE). The in-house computerised embroidery machines and heat sealing systems allow the team to add client names and brand identities onto a huge range of promotional items including umbrellas, USB’s and corporate clothing.

Keith Main, AVC Chairman explains, “As an established small local business providing customised work wear and accessories, along with PPE, corporate gifts and a vast range of general day-to-day products for many local businesses, The Purchasing House was an ideal business to add to our portfolio of services.”

By acquiring The Purchasing House, we can take that work away and deliver a streamlined ‘one stop service’, as well as allow existing clients to order through their existing AVC account.”

Mark Gray, General Manager at The Purchasing House, will head up the new division. Using his vast expertise and product knowledge, Mark will advise and source items for clients from the standard through to the bizarre and more unusual items that are sometimes required to cause a stir at events and exhibitions.

The Purchasing House @ AVC will be based at AVC’s Portlethen facility and managed through AVC’s headquarters in Altens.
