AWARDS HAT TRICK FOR MACPHIE AT MARKETING SOCIETY AWARDS

The UK’s leading family owned food ingredients manufacturer, Macphie of Glenbervie, is celebrating after winning three awards at the Marketing Society Scotland awards. The awards are designed to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Scotland’s most dynamic marketing campaigns and talent.

The Stonehaven-based company scooped a Silver award in the Brand Development category for its first retail brand DeviliShh posh puddings, while Macphie Marketing Manager, Jania Boyd, was crowned Rising Marketing Star with a Gold award. The company also won a Bronze award in the Food and Drink category for its range of cake mixes.

 

The DeviliShh range of posh puddings was unveiled in June 2010 and includes a crème brûlée, panna cotta, crème caramel and pot au chocolat plus complimentary fruit coulis and sauces. It has been an eventful and productive year and DeviliSh can now be found in over 100 fine food retailers including Lakeland, Booths and Dobbies foodhalls nationwide.

 

Thirty-year-old marketing manager, Jania, who hails from Moscow, is responsible for over 150 different cake and confectionery products, which are sold into bakeries, coffee shops, hotels and restaurants worldwide. Her job description includes market research, developing, sampling and marketing a range of brownies, cupcakes, doughnuts and cakes. In just over one year with Macphie, Jania has been instrumental in rolling out a multitude of innovative new cake products and tailor-made marketing campaigns.

 

The Rising Marketing Star award adds fuel to her passion for marketing. She said: “When I first came to Scotland I was advised against a career in marketing as English isn’t my first language. I was thrilled to land my dream job with Macphie and it opened up a whole new world of opportunities to develop innovative cake products. I’m very flattered to receive this recognition and it’s definitely the icing on the cake for me.”

 

Macphie Chief Executive, Alastair Macphie, added: “Winning one prestigious award is an honour but winning three is a really huge achievement.
