Bedford Road to close for resurfacing, kerbing and street lighting work

Bedford Road will close on Monday (10 October) for 5 days to allow for resurfacing, kerbing and street light repair works.

As a result of the works Bedford Road will close between Powis Terrace and Elmbank Terrace.

For the duration of the works, access to Kittybrewster Retail Park and homes in the Sunnybank area will be from St Machar Drive.

In order to minimise disruption Powis Terrace will only be open to southbound traffic heading towards the city centre from its junction with Leslie Terrace and Calsyseat Road.

Residents on Powis Terrace have been advised parking will need to be restricted in the vicinity of the junction with Bedford Road during the roadworks.

Northbound traffic heading out of the city will be diverted along Calsayseat Road and Leslie Terrace, between Calsayseat Road and Powis Terrace.

It will be necessary to restrict Calsayseat Road to one-way traffic whilst the diversion is in place and larger vehicles will be encouraged to use alternative routes, including Berryden Road.

The works are expected to last 5 days but some of the work being carried out is dependent on weather, with adverse weather conditions possibly delaying the completion of the works.

The work will be carried out on behalf of Aberdeen City Council by Aggregate Industries (Bardon Aggregates).
