Bieldside Inn in Aberdeen sold to PB Developments Ltd

Glasgow, UK -. It has just been announced by Global Leisure Agents Knight Frank that one of the North East's most famous Inn’s, The Bieldside Inn has been purchased by PB Developments Ltd

PB Development Company Ltd is a privately owned and operated company which is located within Aberdeen’s West End and City Centre. The impressive PB DEVCO portfolio comprises eight venues, all of which operate within the fine dining, entertainment and licensing trades; Soul, Soul Casino, The College, Babylon, The Forum, The Stage Door, The Queen Vic, and Zen Oriental.

Knight Frank partner David Reid handled the sale of The Bieldside Inn, which sold from an asking price of £1.495 million, on behalf of the award winning and highly successful Signature Pub Group which decided to sell The Bieldside Inn to concentrate in the acquisition and development of city centre bars.

On the sale Garreth Wood of Signature Pub Group said: "We are delighted that PB DEVCO have bought the Bieldside from us. We have very much enjoyed running the business for the past eight years and we wish Stuart Clarkson and Bob Calder every success with their new venture."

PV DEVCO commented: “PB DEVCO has been trading successfully for over twenty-five years and was originally founded by Stuart Clarkson and his father. To this day, PB Devco is still a family business, with Mr Clarkson’s two eldest sons playing a key role in the business. It is this family, friendly business orientation that Mr Clarkson has in mind for his new venture at The Bieldside Inn, which will be managed by Bob Calder, Stuart Clarkson’s brother-in-law, who has worked for PB Devco for 23 years. Bob currently manages The Queen Vic pub which is located in The Rosemount area of Aberdeen. He is very keen to welcome new and existing customers as well as those who wish to return to the Bieldside Inn, to come and play a key role in reviving it’s community spirit and turning it back into a quality local pub with a great atmosphere.

Bob featured on Channel 4’s Aberdeen’s edition of “Come Dine With Me” where he came joint first place. He is excited about giving the venue’s menu a refreshing and vibrant new look, and serving the community of Bieldside”.

David Reid of Knight Frank finalised by saying: “There was good interest in the sale and it shows that even in a difficult market, quality businesses will always sell.''
