Broad Street road improvements set to start

Broad Street and nearby streets will be subject to closures, one-way arrangements and parking restrictions at various times between Tuesday 10 May and Friday 20 May to allow resurfacing and other road improvements to go ahead.

The sequence of restriction is:

 

Waiting restriction

• for the whole period from 6pm Tues 10 May to 6am Fri 20 May; Queen Street, both sides, for 112 metres from the Broad Street junction.

 

Road closures

• for the whole period from 7pm Tues 10 May to 6am Weds 11 May; Gallowgate between the Littlejohn Street and Upperkirkgate junctions; alternative route via Littlejohn Street, West North Street, King Street, Castle Street, Union Street and Broad Street, or Broad Street, Union Street, Castle Street, King Street, West North Street, Mounthooly Roundabout, and Gallowgate;

• for the whole period from 7pm Weds 11 May to 6am Thurs 12 May; 7pm Thurs 12 May to 6am Fri 13 May; Upperkirkgate between the Flourmill Lane and Broad Street junctions; alternative route via Schoolhill, Rosemount Viaduct, Union Terrace, Union Street and Broad Street, or Littlejohn Street, West North Street, King Street, Castle Street, Union Street and Broad Street;

• for the whole period from 7pm Fri 13 May to 6am Mon 16 May; Broad Street / Gallowgate from Broad Street’s junction with Queen Street to Gallowgate’s junction with Littlejohn Street; Upperkirkgate between the Flourmill Lane and Broad Street junctions; alternative route via Schoolhill, Rosemount Viaduct, Union Terrace, Union Street and Broad Street, or Littlejohn Street, West North Street, King Street, Castle Street, Union Street and Broad Street;

• for a full two-day period between 6am Tues 17 May and 6am Fri 20 May; all of Queen Street from its junction with Broad Street; police vehicles only will be allowed access to Queen street from West North Street while the closure is in force.

 

One-Way

• for the whole period from 6am Mon 16 May to 6am Fri 20 May; the whole of Broad Street will be one-way northbound; alternative route via Gallowgate, Littlejohn Street, West North Street, King Street, Castle Street and Union Street.

 

No Left Turns

• for a full two-day period between 6am Mon 16 May and 6am Fri 20 May; no left turns from Broad Street into Upperkirkgate; alternative route via Gallowgate, Berry Street, St Andrew Street and Blackfriars Street; temporary bans on parking and loading in Blackfriars Street except for registered buses.
