Brodies launches pioneering legal training Academy for junior surveyorsBrodies LLP is launching a unique programme of training and networking seminars in Scotland to enhance the legal knowledge of junior surveyors and help them build contacts that will be invaluable during their professional career. The annual programme of free seminars offered by Brodies Academy will cover the legal aspects of property and is tailored to provide surveyors who are working towards their Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) with practical advice that will broaden their knowledge and help improve on-the-job performance. In addition to extending the depth of knowledge of surveyors, the sessions will also provide the opportunity to network and build lasting relationships. The evening seminars, which will be launched on October 11, are open to surveyors from graduate level up to five years post-qualification from all areas of the profession - traditional surveying firms, in-house surveyors, public sector organisations, or property companies – and across all sectors – commercial, residential and rural. Topics covered will include buying and selling investment properties and development sites, financing property deals, and planning. The sessions will be conducted by lawyers from Brodies' property team, which is ranked top tier by both The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners’ Guide to the UK Legal Profession. Nick Scott, head of Brodies' property team, said: "This is an exciting initiative that will have significant benefits not only in enhancing the legal training offered to junior surveyors but also in giving them the opportunity to network and build professional relationships that will be valuable throughout their careers. "Thanks to the breadth and depth of expertise we have in our team we are able to provide practical, targeted advice that will assist surveyors' professional development and help them be more effective in the workplace. At Brodies we are always seeking to build positive long-term relationships with both our clients and fellow professionals and our new Academy is part of that commitment."
