Brodies triumphs at major UK legal awardsBrodies LLP has been named the UK’s Regional/National Law Firm of the Year for 2011 by The Lawyer, one of the legal industry's leading magazines, at its prestigious annual awards in London. Alongside the publication’s own research, the awards were judged by a senior advisory panel comprising representatives from major City institutions and the media – which singled out Brodies for having “definitively redefined the Scottish elite”. Widely regarded as the most comprehensive and incisive reflection of the UK commercial legal market, The Lawyer Awards celebrate excellence in the profession across private practice, the public sector, commerce and industry, and the Bar. Brodies was commended for its accomplishment in strategic vision, delivery and range of client work, and strong financial performance – during a year in which the firm has undergone significant expansion, establishing a permanent presence in Aberdeen and making 12 new partner appointments across the firm. Bill Drummond, managing partner of Brodies, said: "We are all very pleased at Brodies to receive this accolade. Against an economic backdrop and legal landscape that continue to challenge, our client focus, sustained investment and business success has, we hope, been seen in a positive light. I think it is also some vindication of the continued commitment shown by everyone at our firm to embrace change, rise to the challenges facing our clients and build and maintain a really top class level of service. Our aim is to offer innovative solutions, local knowledge and the most comprehensive top-tier legal skills available in our market and we are delighted that our work in Scotland has been recognised on such a scale - we promise to redouble efforts on behalf of clients who have supported us to this stage." 116 views
