Cairngorms Chamber of Commerce Lunch- Wednesday, 3 March 2010Date: Wednesday, 3 March 2010 Time: 12.00 noon for 12.30 – 2.00 p.m. Venue: The Cross at Kingussie Topic : Go Green with your Business – help save money and the Park’s Environment Speakers: Lloyd Cornfield, Business Gateway, John Thorne and Chris Bremner, CNPA
The beauty of the Park is key to the success of many businesses, and safeguarding it can also help your business save money and market it to an increasingly aware 'green' public. To this end, Cairngorms National Park Authority are working with Business Gateway and the Business Enterprise Partnership to launch a new environmental support scheme for businesses in the Park.
It's a complex picture of what is available to businesses with several agencies offering different services and grants. Lloyd Cornfield, the local Business Gateway officer based in Grantown-on-Spey will be the one-stop-shop for businesses to get advice. Lloyd will be joining John Thorne and Chris Bremner at the lunch to find out what you want in the way of support, courses and advice. This could cover renewables, energy conservation, waste, water use, environmental planning or something particular to your business. Come and tell us what you need to know. Our thanks to the CNPA for sponsoring the lunch which is at The Cross in Kingussie. Voted “Scottish Restaurant with Rooms of the Year 2004 and 2009”, situated in four acres of riverside grounds - with an abundance of native trees, flowers and wildlife – The Cross was built as a water powered tweed mill in the late 1800’s at a time when the village was being developed by the local laird. Owners David and Katie Young received nationwide recognition recently winning the Wine Award for Scotland at the AA Hospitality Awards 2009 - 2010. Places at the lunch are limited. If required, we can arrange for Lloyd to contact you direct, or set up another meeting, subject to demand. Employees and business colleagues are welcome. It’s a great way to meet other members, as well as the Board of Directors. Please pass this invitation to anyone you think would be interested. Our lunches are great opportunity to network with other businesses in the National Park and to highlight issues facing businesses. If you would like to suggest a topic or issue for a future lunch please email it to admin1@cairngormschamber.com.
