CALA GETS STAMP OF APPROVAL IN FOVERAN

CALA Homes has received the go-ahead to build 24 family homes in the village of Foveran, north of Aberdeen.

The decision today (Tuesday, 25 October 2011) signals the Aberdeen arrival of CALA’s new Signature Collection of detached four and five bedroom homes. The site will also include four affordable homes.

Mike Naysmith, Aberdeen-based Regional Director at CALA Homes, said: “This is extremely encouraging news and I have no doubt that at just ten miles north of the city centre and less than five miles to the much anticipated Trump International Golf Links, the picturesque site will generate a lot of interest.

“The Signature Collection is already proving very popular at The Sycamores, our site in Liff, near Dundee, because of its spacious, modern living which fits in well with families.

“This will be a two year development and we expect to be on site early next year.”

Gavin Sharp, Architectural Manager at CALA Homes, added: “Through ongoing discussions with the planning department and in line with the government’s guidelines for designing streets, we have designed a village green - giving a real sense of place and character to the layout.

“The new homes will largely frame the green, encouraging social activity whilst being visually pleasing to residents. Additional tree planting around the perimeter to the south and west encloses the site whilst a sympathetic landscape design will address the north boundary and site access.”

CALA’s Signature Collection features 21 new designs for four and five-bedroom family homes with each house style named after a traditional Scottish surname.

The homes typically feature separate formal living and reception areas on the ground floor while, in most cases, offering an open-plan layout in the kitchen and family living area.

CALA’s high specification kitchens and bathrooms are a key feature of the new range. An integrated “appliance bank” concept in the kitchen grants customers a practical and stylish selection of integrated appliances with a number of upgrade options available.
