CAMPBELL DALLAS EXPAND SUPPORT TO SMES WITH INTERNATIONAL AMBITIONS

Scottish accountancy firm, Campbell Dallas LLP, has made the strategic move of hiring an international development manager to support SMEs global ambitions.

Rebecca Sales previously held the position of senior business development officer managing international trade at Aberdeen City Council. Rebecca’s contribution to the Campbell Dallas Aberdeen office comes at a pivotal time for Scottish businesses aiming to capitalise on international business prospects, particularly in countries such as Latin America, Australasia and Africa.

Tom Faichnie, partner at Campbell Dallas in Aberdeen, says: “Rebecca’s knowledge and expertise in key markets, such as Latin America and Australia, is particularly relevant to many of our oil and gas clients. We’re excited about the unique contribution she will make to our firms counsel.”

Rebecca has had a colourful career history, including working in Equatorial Guinea and stints studying international trade and emerging markets in Barcelona and Mexico where she further developed her language skills to become a fluent Spanish speaker. Throughout her global studies and employment, she has retained an interest in the oil and gas industry. Whilst at Aberdeen City Council, Rebecca hosted state visits from various ambassadors. In 2009, she hosted a welcome reception in Aberdeen for the President of Mexico on behalf of Buckingham Palace which showcased local oil and gas operators. In March this year, she played a fundamental role in bringing together 270 delegates and 26 senior industry speakers for Aberdeen’s inaugural Unconventional Gas conference.

Rebecca was drawn to award winning Campbell Dallas due to their distinctive role in Aberdeen’s oil and gas industry. She says: “Campbell Dallas are unique in recognising the high concentration of SMEs in Aberdeen who are the core of the local oil and gas industry. Many SMEs have ambitions for international growth and need to be able to access international market information quickly and on an economical cost basis. Campbell Dallas can do this. We are the only Scottish member of international accounting group UHY Hacker Young who have over 100 member firms in 78 countries in all the global energy hubs. I believe my skills and experience gained in formal business training and in emerging markets with key international figures coupled with Campbell Dallas’s energy team expertise, we offer the whole package for Scottish SMEs with aspirations to grow beyond the North Sea.”
