Carollers start tuning up for city’s Christmas Concert

Aberdeen’s Singing Chorus was in fine voice this week as the rigorous rehearsals for the city’s perennially popular Christmas Concert got under way.

Although Christmas may be more than two months away 300 people joined Aberdeen's Singing Chorus and started at Cowdray Hall on Wednesday.

The Singing Chorus is the largest community choir in Scotland with people from all walks of life with a love of singing, coming together for ten weeks of rehearsals, ahead of the choir’s performance at the Music Hall.

Musical Director Jim Addison led the chorus as they started running through the concert’s score of Christmas carol favourites.

The 10-week rehearsal process will culminate in their performance at the Music Hall on 1 December (Thursday). The second rehearsal will take place at the Cowdray Hall on Wednesday from 7pm.

Tickets for the event are selling fast with more than half the capacity of 1200 already snapped up.

Remaining tickets are available from Aberdeen Box Office situated next to the Music Hall. For more information telephone 01224 641122.
