CELEBRITIES COOK UP A TREAT FOR CLAN

A local cancer charity is set to benefit from a tasty fundraiser backed by a host of celebrities and top chefs.

CLAN Cancer Support will receive a share of proceeds raised from the newly published ‘The Happy Cookbook’.

The Happy Cookbook was compiled by local man Abe Taylor, and features recipes from the likes of Ainsley Harriott, Sir Alex Ferguson, Gary Rhodes OBE and First Minister, Alex Salmond.

Mr Taylor felt inspired to do something for charity after helping out in one of the CLAN charity shops and decided to combine his desire to fundraise with his love of food, and so The Happy Cookbook idea was born.

Mr Taylor then set about contacting celebrities, chefs and local restaurants to gather recipes and is now delighted with the high quality final product.

He said: “I am thrilled with The Happy Cookbook and it is great to finally be able to see it sitting on bookshop shelves.

“I love all things food and so the opportunity to use this passion to help raise vital funds for local good causes is great.

“A lot of people have helped make the book what it is, and I am hugely grateful to everyone for their support while I was carrying out this project.

"Extra special mentions have to go to the Art Department & Debbie Walker Photography for kindly donating their professional design and photography services to make this book what it is. Their contribution has been invaluable."

Duncan Charles, fundraising coordinator at CLAN, added: “When Abe came to us with the idea for the cookbook, we were of course delighted that he wanted to fundraise for CLAN, and his enthusiasm for the project was just incredible.

“The cookbook is absolutely jam packed with amazing looking recipes and I for one can’t wait to start trying them out!

“Everyone at CLAN is extremely grateful to Abe and we are sure that The Happy Cookbook will prove to be a huge success.”

The Happy Cookbook is available from CLAN House, Waterstones on Union Street, and Culinare, Stonehaven, and is priced £15. For further information, please visit: www.HappyCoobook.org

Proceeds raised from sales of The Happy Cookbook will be split between CLAN and the ARCHIE Foundation.
