challenge on the fairway
The championship Hawkshill Course at Newmachar Golf Club will set the scene for the first of the Majors on 23 April. As one of the toughest courses in the area and widely acknowledged as a true test of golf in Scotland this is bound to be a real test of skills and a perfect opportunity to escape for half a day to engage in networking with a competitive twist. On the 25th June, the series moves on to the Peterhead Golf Club for the Chamber Open, for 18 holes steeped in tradition. The 3rd Major of the year, the Chamber US Open, will be contested on 23rd July over the rolling fairways of Ellon's McDonald Golf Club. This course provides a testing layout, with the closing 2 holes sure to provide a major challenge. The Chamber Majors Series will conclude on 27th August with the Chamber US PGA which will be played out over the tree-lined fairways of Banchory's Inchmarlo Golf Club Laird Course. Each of the Majors will feature its own Major Champion, for individual and team, with a series Major Champion crowned at Inchmarlo in August. Carl Hodson Head of Business of Kinnarps North of Scotland said, "We are proud and privileged to be exclusively sponsors of the Chamber Golf Majors 2009". Lesley Mitchell, Chamber events co-ordinator siad: "This is the first time the Chamber has launched a majors series, so it will be a different twist for our golfing members.
