Charities at the Events Event 2012

Two cancer charities have been given free exhibition space at Scotland's biggest hospitality show in Aberdeen next week.

CLAN Cancer Support and Macmillan Cancer Support will attend The Events Event 2012, at the AECC on Thursday, 19th January.

The exhibition is for the meetings, events and corporate hospitality sectors, and targets those who purchase these services for businesses and organisations.

Susan Crighton, fundraising manager, CLAN Cancer Support said, "We're absolutely delighted to be invited to be part of the Events Event 2012. This is an excellent opportunity for us to raise awareness of our services, and also to find out more about the services that might be available to us for our fund raising activities.""

Event organiser John Anderson, of Elite Promotions, Aberdeen, said the idea was to enable two important charities keep their profile in the public eye.

"Although the exhibition is sold out, we have managed to find some space for Clan and Macmillian. We have supported them over the years and the work they do is fantastic," said Mr Anderson.

He added, this year's exhibition is bigger than the 2011 event, with more stands, a greater proportion of higher profile exhibitors and strong representation from across Scotland and the rest of the UK.
