Charity to Repeat Popular Fundraising ChallengeAberdeen Beach based charity Inspire has confirmed that it will once again be hosting a sponsored firewalk on the 5th November this year. The popular event, which was run for the first time by Inspire last year, attracted over 60 brave firewalkers and hundreds of spectators. The organising team from Inspire hope that 2011 will prove to be as successful as the year before which saw in excess of £14,500 raised for people with learning disabilities and additional support needs throughout the area.
The firewalk takes place on Queens Links at Aberdeen Beach and is part of the City Council fireworks event on the 5th November. The walkers can be seen from 7pm until just before the fireworks display at 8pm.
“We’re delighted to once again be given the opportunity to run this very popular event” said Fiona Poustie, Head of Business Development & Fundraising at Inspire, “The annual fireworks display always attracts a huge crowd and we hope to persuade those people who will be coming along to see the display to also have a go at our exciting fundraising challenge”.
Registration has just opened and interested parties are asked to contact the Fundraising Team on 01224 280005, email fundraising@inspireonline.org.uk or visit www.inspireonline.org.uk and complete the ‘contact us’ form. 97 views
