Christmas donation for the homelessA prestigious North-east hotel is helping to feed Aberdeen’s homeless this Christmas. Mercure Aberdeen Ardoe House Hotel and Spa is donating 40 Christmas turkey dinners to homeless charity Aberdeen Cyrenians.
The charity provides a number of services to people affected by homelessness in Aberdeen and the surrounding areas and has been operating in the North-east for over 40 years.
Director of Sales for Ardoe House, Debbie Moir, said: “This is the second year that we have been supporting Aberdeen Cyrenians and the work that they do for the local community. We feel it’s important to give back to the community and to think of those who are less fortunate.”
Aberdeen Cyrenians Fundraising Officer, Kimberley Wilson, said: “Aberdeen Cyrenians has been supported by Ardoe House Hotel for many years now and it’s been wonderful to have them step forward again this Christmas to provide our Street Alternatives Service with 40 Christmas dinners for our service users. Thanks to the staff at Ardoe we know our service users are guaranteed to have a delicious meal prepared specially with them in mind and on their behalf we would like to give our heart warm thanks to Ardoe House Hotel and their kind staff for their kind gesture of support with hope this can continue on in the future.’
Ms Moir will be joining Aberden’s Lord Provost to help deliver the 40 meals to the Cyrenians shelter on Summer Street on Christmas Day.
Ardoe House is located just three miles from the city centre. The hotel, set in a 19th century manor house, has an adjoining spa as well as restaurants and bars. 64 views
