City roundabout to close for weekend resurfacing work

Essential resurfacing work is set to begin at the King Street - St Machar Drive roundabout on Saturday (October 15).

In order to minimise disruption work will be carried out over two consecutive weekends and is due to be completed on 23 October (Sunday).

Evening and night time working will be carried out from approximately 6.30pm until midnight on Saturdays and 8am until midnight on Sundays.

King Street will remain open for the duration of the work while St Machar Drive and School Road will be closed at their junction with King Street.

Whilst contractors work on the roundabout temporary traffic signals will be used as only one half of the roundabout will be open at a time. These signals will cause delays but will allow King Street to stay open for the duration of the work. Diversions will be set up for both St Machar Drive and School Road.

The resurfacing work is weather dependent and as a result the completion date of 23 October may be affected by adverse weather.

Aggregate Industries (Bardon Aggregates) will carry out the work on behalf of Aberdeen City Council.
