City’s talented teenage musicians hit right note with Lord Provost

A group set up to promote the interests and celebrate the achievements of Aberdeen City Council’s music tuition service hopes to hit the right note for a special guest on Saturday [01 October].

The parents and teachers behind Friends of Aberdeen Instrumental Music (FAIM) will welcome Aberdeen Lord Provost Peter Stephen to a special workshop at the Music Centre at Northfield Academy.

The group want to promote the city’s music tuition service and its outstanding track record of helping budding musicians after its funding was secured by councillors in this year’s budget.

The Lord Provost will see firsthand how the group has continued to flourish as he watches rehearsals by three wind bands and the beginners’ string groups.

The FAIM group will host its open workshop in Northfield Academy on Saturday from 9.30am to 12.30pm. Lord Provost Peter Stephen will visit FAIM between 10am and 11am.
