CLAN CANCER SUPPORT FASHION SHOW RAISES £8,000

CLAN Cancer Support has raised £8,000 after holding its own fashion show for the first time.

The night of glamour and catwalk poses was held at the Music Hall in Aberdeen on Wednesday evening (May 11).

Over 300 people attended the event, which was sponsored by TOTAL E&P UK Ltd. All of the models were connected with CLAN and included the charity’s clients, staff and volunteers.

CLAN fundraising manager, Susan Crighton, said: “The fashion show was a great success and raised a fantastic amount of money. It never ceases to amaze me how much interest there is in our fundraising events and the turnout at the show was another example of the public giving us their full support.

“Over the years we have benefited from the generosity of others who have organised fashion shows and donated the proceedings to CLAN. This time, we thought we would try organising our own show and following its success, we hope to hold another in the future.”

Sandra McIntosh, TOTAL Communication Adviser, said: “TOTAL is delighted to have supported CLAN with this fundraising event. We have supported the charity for many years through various initiatives and I’m certain the fashion show will have raised further awareness of the charity as well as boosting funds. Thank you to all those who took part and for delivering such an enjoyable and fun evening.”

CLAN is an independent charity which offers support to anyone affected by cancer. Based in Aberdeen, the charity covers the whole of Grampian, Orkney and Shetland.
