CLAN CANCER SUPPORT TAKES TO THE CATWALK

Supporters of a North-east cancer support charity will be strutting their stuff next month at the charity’s first ever fashion show.

CLAN Cancer Support is taking to the catwalk on Wednesday, 11 May, at The Music Hall in Aberdeen, to raise awareness of the charity’s work and wide reaching support.

All the models taking part in the event - which is sponsored by Total E&P UK, with clothing supplied by John Lewis – are CLAN clients, staff and volunteers.

CLAN support volunteer Yvonne Prockter will be one of the models on the night and is looking forward to unleashing her inner model for the charity.

She said: “I have been involved with CLAN for more than three years now and knew about the wonderful services provided by the charity prior to that through previous support given to my family.

“I am delighted to be able to assist with this event which will hopefully not only raise much needed funds but also continue to raise awareness of the range of services provided by the charity. I have also persuaded my son to volunteer as a model so I will have plenty of moral support on the night.

“Cancer touches so many of us at some point in our lives. If we could all take time out for just one evening to come along to the show, support CLAN, and have some fun we can help to ensure the charity can continue to make a difference to those in need of information and support.”

Susan Crighton, fundraising manager at CLAN Cancer Support, is delighted to see the charity’s first official fashion show take shape.

She said: “Although a great number of our supporters have organised fundraising events like this previously, this is the first time we have organised a fashion show on this scale.

“We have been delighted with the positive response we have received from clients, staff and volunteers and it will be fantastic to watch everyone take to the catwalk on the night.

“As well as continuing to raise awareness of CLAN’s work in the community we hope that the night will prove to be a great night of fun and fashion for everyone.”

Tickets for the evening, which starts at 7.00pm, are available from Aberdeen Box Office by calling in person, phoning 01224 641 122 or by visiting www.boxofficeaberdeen.com
