CNR INTERNATIONAL AND PWC BOWL AWAY THE COMPETITION IN ABERDEEN CORPORATE DECATHLON

Kittybrewster and Balgownie Bowling Clubs hosted the penultimate challenge in the Aberdeen Corporate Decathlon. The Lawn Bowls Challenge was held at the clubs on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September.

Amidst fears of a wash out, nothing could dampen the 8th event of the year. Competition was fierce from the outset as the rain & wind continued to challenge, but the teams hardly noticed as the focus and determination was clearly on the task in hand – to become Lawn Bowls Champions!

As ever it was a hotly fought out Grand Final in League 1, with CNR International and GE Oil & Gas battling it out after both teams gave commendable performances all through the event. In the end it was CNR International who came out victorious to become champions with a 4-2 win.

In League 2, the Grand Final did not disappoint with PwC and A2+B both fighting until the last seconds of the game to win! In the end it was PwC who took first place by winning 3-2.

Anne Gauld, Vice President at Balgownie Bowling Club said “Congratulations to both CNR International and PwC for winning the Lawn Bowls Challenge and to all those who competed to make both days a real success. Both Kittybrewster and Balgownie Bowling Clubs wish to thank activitymix for giving them the opportunity to promote the game of lawn bowls in this way. If anyone is interested in finding out more about the game please make contact with either club”.

These results mean that it’s all change once again in both leagues. Shell Team 1 are sitting top of League 1, with CNR International coming up strong in second place and Wood Group in third. In League 2, PwC continue to defend their position at the top of the table with Champion Technologies and TAQA taking second and third place.

The final decathlon challenge will be the Basketball Challenge sponsored by Apache at The Beacon Centre on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th October and registration for this event is now open. This is going to be a nail biting end to our 2011 Corporate Decathlon!
