CNR INTERNATIONAL DONATES FUNDS RAISED AT ANNUAL DINNER DANCE TO TWO LOCAL ORGANISATIONS

Kind-hearted employees of Aberdeen-based oil and gas operator, CNR International, have donated £7,000 to two North-east organisations after raising the cash at their annual dinner dance.

Give Kids A Chance – which aims to encourage and support disadvantaged young people to develop and sustain long term hobbies and interests – and Friends of Carronhill – a group of parents, staff and supporters of the Stonehaven-based school for children with additional support needs – each received £3,500 at a presentation at Carronhill School, Stonehaven, on Tuesday, May 10.

CNR International held a Glam Rock-themed event at the AECC, which was attended by almost 300 guests, earlier this year. The money was raised through a Heads and Tails game and donations from both CNR International and its charitable donations committee.

Friends of Carronhill Chairwoman, Caroline Traa, said: “We are delighted to receive this generous donation and intend to put it towards our fundraising effort to purchase a new mini-bus for the school, which will enable us to take the children on more outings.”

Heather Wilson, Project Manager, at Give Kids a Chance, added: “We are very grateful to CNR International for choosing our organisation to benefit from its fundraising efforts. The support we receive from businesses as well as the public in the local community is fundamental to our organisation continuing to support disadvantaged children.”

Give Kids A Chance and Friends of Carronhill are two very worthwhile, local causes and we hope that these donations will help them to continue the good work that they do.”
