Cognity Doubles Office Space to Accommodate Expanding Business

Cognity, a specialist engineering consultancy based in Aberdeen, is more than doubling its office space as it moves into new premises next month. Staying in its current location of Davidson House within the Science and Technology Park at Bridge of Don, the company will relocate from 729 sq ft to 1487 sq ft offices.

This expansion is part of Cognity’s continued growth and recruitment plan. Since inception in June 2010 the company has grown from two staff to a ten-strong team consisting of mechanical engineering specialists, senior design engineers and design draughtsman, and it is currently recruiting for further new positions.

Rae Younger, managing director of Cognity said: “This expansion marks a buoyant first year for Cognity which exceeded its year one projections to achieve a turnover of £750,000. The move to our new larger premises will facilitate our ongoing growth strategy by allowing us to further expand our expert team of engineers, therefore increasing our work capacity to meet demand.

“We are actively looking to employ experienced mechanical engineers, designers and analysts who can add value to the company and play a key role in helping achieve our projected year two turnover of £1.2 million.”

Cognity recently received the accolade of Promising New Business at the prestigious 2011 Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise. Managing director Rae Younger was also shortlisted for the Emerging Entrepreneur category.

Aberdeen based Cognity offers specialist mechanical design and advanced analysis using cutting-edge ANSYS engineering simulation software, as well as delivering structural design and draughting services.
