Committee approves plans for new homes

Councillors have approved plans for 20 new homes to be built on land near Airyhall Road.

Members of the Development Management Sub-committee heard the housing would be laid out in a cul-de-sac format with 10 detached and 10 semi-detached homes.

The development will feature a “square”, public open space and communal footpath. Most of the houses will have garages as well as parking spaces and a communal parking area.

Committee convener Councillor Kate Dean said: “I very much welcome this development and believe this proposal will provide a good mix of family homes in the city."

The committee unanimously approved the application with conditions for the applicant, Bancon Developments Ltd, to adhere to before any consent document is issued.
