Community centres and crèches to close if strike goes ahead

All Aberdeen City Council-operated community centres and crèches, including those within sports centres, will be closed to the public on November 30 if planned nationwide industrial action goes ahead.

Community centres which are leased and run by independent management committees will not be affected by the action. Community centre users who are unsure whether or not a facility is council-operated are advised to call before attending on November 30.

The council has already announced that schools will be closed to pupils and members of the public if the strike goes ahead, as it seems clear that a majority of teachers and support staff will be involved in it

Staff who are not involved in industrial action will be reporting to work as normal.
