Contract Solutions Grampian to create 30 new jobs as cleaning specialist looks to expand

Contract Solutions Grampian, a leading North-east office cleaning specialist, plans to create at least 30 new jobs in the next three months.

The company, which has taken over Aberdeen contracts previously run by Servicemaster, has targeted increased growth in 2010 through acquisition and further contract wins. Contract Solutions Grampian has a staff of 225.

Calum Johnston, Commercial Director at Contract Solutions Grampian, said: “It’s very much business as usual as all that’s different is the company’s name. The same staff will be offering the same high level of service that has been delivered for the past 35 years. We have high hopes of expanding Contract Solutions Grampian over the next few months.

“The plan is to do this by winning further contracts and by looking to acquire other cleaning companies in the Aberdeen area. We also want to increase our staffing levels to cope with the expected growth. As well as cleaning personnel, we are also looking for supervisory staff. In total we’re looking to recruit 30 people.

“We know the only way to grow the company is to continue to deliver a professional and dedicated service. We can do this by ensuring we continue to train and support our teams across the city.

“It’s vital companies have experienced and reputable cleaning partners entering their work premises and I think the fact that many of the management and supervisors at Contract Solutions Grampian are known within the office and commercial cleaning sector will help us grow during 2010.”

Contract Solutions Grampian recently purchased Aberdeen-based Thorough Clean for an undisclosed figure and has taken on the firm’s 14 staff.

As well as its core business of professional office cleaning services to large, medium and small companies in the Aberdeen area, Dyce-based Contract Solutions Grampian offers carpet, upholstery and window cleaning, hard floor cleaning and maintenance, computer VDU, keyboard and printer cleaning and washroom consumables servicing.

The company has 185 contracts across the city and works with a range of businesses including those in the energy and financial sectors.

A business graduate from the Robert Gordon Institute of Technology, Commercial Director Calum is also well known in rugby circles as head coach at Aberdeen Wanderers, who play in the Caledonia Two (North-east) League.

Since 1990 he has coached hundreds of players including Scotland captain and British Lion Jason White, Scotland Sevens and Under-20 Scotland cap Ash McCulloch and Scotland youth international George Hunter.
