CORPRO SECURES EXPLORATION WELLS CONTRACT WITH MAERSKCorpro Systems LTD, a member of international oilfield services organisation Reservoir Group, has been awarded a coring contract with Mærsk Oil Norway. The contract is the first commercial project to be carried out by Corpro since it opened its Norwegian facility in late 2010 and will include coring and various well-site services for two exploration wells in offshore Norway. Work is due to commence in quarter four. Tor Magne Madsen, Corpro Norway’s country manager, said: “Although Corpro is a relatively recent arrival in the Norwegian energy sector, it has a large global footprint and has been developing new technology in the marketplace for more than 20 years. “This contract award recognises our innovative coring technology and is the first step in our long-term strategy to build Corpro’s market share in the Norwegian sector. We are delighted to have been given this opportunity. It is testament to the whole Corpro team and we hope that this will form the basis of a longer term relationship with Mærsk Oil.” Head of contracts at Maersk Oil Norway, Oddmund Skiftun, added: “The decision to award this contract comes on the back of Corpro’s reputation in the marketplace and our confidence in its proven technical solutions. We are looking forward to beginning Maersk’s first commercial project in association with Corpro Norway.” From 36 bases stretching five continents, Corpro is a formation evaluation service company, delivering value to exploration and production companies by focusing on the core.
