Council duo praised for outstanding commitment to tenant participation in AberdeenTwo Aberdeen City Council workers have received national recognition for the vital service they provide to council housing tenants. Tenant participation officers Carol Hannaford and Caroline Souter were awarded Certificates of Excellence in the Good Practice Awards 2011 organised by the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS). They received their certificates during a ceremony at Marischal College today [23 November]. The awards recognise outstanding work and lasting contribution to tenant involvement.
Aberdeen City Council’s tenant participation team strives to:
• Listen to the concerns and views of tenants; • Provide information and training for tenants to get more involved; • Give practical guidance and support; • Increase and develop tenant participation.
Aberdeen City Council Head of Housing and Community Safety, Donald Urquhart said: “Aberdeen City Council places great store in tenant participation. Carol and Caroline were responsible for the development of a new tenant’s participation policy. In addition they have both given presentations throughout the country regarding our approach to tenant participation. They fully deserve this recognition.” 82 views
