CROWN RELOCATIONS WINS GREEN HONOUR AT RE:LOCATE AWARDS

Crown Relocations, a worldwide leader of global mobility, domestic and international transportation of household goods, and departure and destination services, won the new "Green Achievement" award at the 2010-2011 Re:locate award ceremony.

The Re:locate award recognizes the contribution that human resources (HR) and relocations professionals make to global business and celebrates success, good practice and innovation.

To win the award, Crown outdid strong competitors and demonstrated successful ways of minimizing the organization's impact on the environment and local communities, and the effective use of its resources to contribute to a cleaner, greener environment.

Steve Slade, environmental compliance manager at Crown Worldwide Group in the UK, said: "We are delighted to have won this award. To be recognized from within the industry means our true commitment and effort to minimize our environmental impact is evident and successful. Crown has a clear commitment to corporate social responsibility and helping local communities. We developed our environmental policy in 2004 and since then have actively addressed ways in which the business can be more environmentally friendly, and encouraged our employees and suppliers to reduce their carbon footprint."

Floella Benjamin, actress, writer and cultural ambassador of the London 2012 Olympics hosted this year's ceremony, which was held at London's Institute of Directors and comprised of ten awards recognizing individuals, teams, policies and innovation, with a choice of categories for HR and service providers.
