DAVID HARMAN JOINS HSBC IN ABERDEEN AS SENIOR COMMERCIAL DIRECTORHSBC today (19 December 2011) added another senior commercial director to its growing Aberdeen commercial team as the bank progresses its expansion plans in the city. David Harman joins at a time when the bank is continuing to record strong growth within its Aberdeen commercial business, and will play a pivotal business development role as the bank seeks to further increase its customer base.
David is a banking veteran with over 30 years experience with HSBC, having worked in a wide variety of sectors including corporate banking, receivables finance, commercial and retail banking.
David will be responsible for increasing HSBC’s profile in the business community and attracting businesses with turnovers exceeding £5 million.
Aberdeen remains a key part of HSBC’s Scottish expansion strategy, with the bank committing an investment of £3.5m to open a new branch and upgraded commercial facility in the city, in response to local demand for HSBC’s services and international expertise.
Commenting on his appointment, David said:
“It’s an exciting time to be joining the team in Aberdeen, and it’s clear there are some tremendous businesses here which should be seeking a strong strategic banking partner, particularly if they have an international footprint.”
