Do you support your local community?

Most firms want to play their part and put something back into the community. Contract Solutions Grampian (CSG), an office and commercial cleaning specialist with 280 staff working across 275 sites, decided it would support a local event.

Calum Johnston, commercial director at Aberdeen-based CSG, said “We wanted to play our part and support a local community event that meant something to the business.”

The company decided to support the Anne Frank Awards. The competition, organized by Grampian Racial Equality Council, encourages nursery, primary and secondary pupils to contribute towards racial and cultural awareness and equality in any number of ways – via artwork, poetry and drama or the production of DVDs and videos, through to dance, cultural studies and awareness weeks.

Mr Johnston said: “We opted to support the awards as they reflect our own culture of embracing different nationalities and cultures – we have staff from Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and the UK.”

Schools compete annually for the honour of displaying the Anne Frank statue. This year, it was won by Rothienorman Primary School.

CSG has also agreed to support the 2012 Anne Frank Awards.
