Draeger Offers A Total Solution At Offshore Europe

6-8 September, 2011, Aberdeen Conference Centre, Stand 1B40

Offering a complete health and safety solution locally from the new Sales and Service Centre in Aberdeen, Draeger understands the safety risks faced by those working in the oil, gas and petrochem industries on a daily basis.

All round protection against H2S and other toxic and explosive gases is essential to the safety of not only the staff but, also, the installations and sites where they work. Visitors to the Draeger stand will find out how personnel and assets can be protected with a variety of portable and transportable gas detection devices and respiratory equipment, as well as fixed flame and gas detection systems. In addition, Draeger will show how, by providing extensive service, rental, maintenance and training solutions, it can help organisations to achieve their safety goals.

Providing a total solution, Draeger combines specialist knowledge of both the offshore and onshore working environments with innovative products and professional services to suit every application.

Looking after personnel

In addition to the new Draeger CPS range of gas tight chemical protection suits, the stand will feature both short and long duration personal escape sets as well as smoke hoods for immediate evacuation. Air-fed respirators and half and full-face masks are also being featured together with Draeger’s PSS range of lightweight, ergonomically designed breathing apparatus sets.

Single and multiple gas detectors for personal monitoring applications will include the compact Draeger PAC5500 for the detection of oxygen or hydrogen sulphide in air. Also on display will be the full X-am range including the X-am 2000, X-am 5000 and X-am 7000 devices. The new Draeger X-am 5600 which gives accurate measurement of up to six gases simultaneously will also be displayed. For transportable, area gas detection monitoring the stand will include demonstrations of the new Draeger X-zone which provides an innovative wireless ‘safety net’ solution for groups of workers and is easy to set up, use and monitor.

A variety of occupational safety equipment will also be featured including disposable filtering facemasks (FFPs), escape equipment and the Draeger X-pect safety spectacle range.

Looking after personnel may also involve the use of diagnostics testing systems for drugs and alcohol. Non-invasive, hygienic and reliable, the Draeger diagnostics range is quick and easy to use, is ideal for both stationary and mobile applications – and will feature on the stand at this year’s show.

Protecting Assets

Highlighting the benefits of portable, transportable and fixed gas detection, the Draeger display will include not only the comprehensive Draeger-Tubes range but also portable gas detection systems typically used in purging applications.

In fixed gas detection applications, smart, explosion proof, ATEX approved infra-red systems such as the Draeger PIR 7000 are being shown alongside the Draeger Polytron Pulsar Open Path Gas Detector which is able to detect hydrocarbon leaks within a line of sight of up to 200m. For reliable flame detection, the Draeger Flame 5000 explosion-proof, colour imaging based CCTV flame detector can eliminate false alarms. By using the camera to detect the flame, it removes the need for physical alarm investigation and improves response time to incidents. ATEX approved, Draeger also offers complete system integration for fixed gas and flame detection.

The stand will also feature the very latest thermal imaging technology with the Draeger UCF 7000, the first ATEX approved intrinsically safe thermal imaging camera for use in potentially explosive environments.

Working together to achieve safety goals

Draeger’s Aberdeen Sales and Service Centre also offers a range of training solutions which includes OPITO-approved H2S Basic Safety training as well as a series of Authorised Gas Tester courses and training on the use, care and maintenance of all types of breathing apparatus and gas detection equipment.

Providing state-of-the-art service workshop facilities, the Bridge of Don centre guarantees cost-effective and time-efficient maintenance of breathing apparatus, personal escape systems and gas detection equipment.

Rental needs covered …

Draeger staff will also be on hand to explain how solutions for temporary projects or contracts can also be met by Draeger’ wide-reaching rental options. These options give customers an extensive range of Draeger respiratory and portable gas detection products – both on a short or long-term basis.
