Following an investment of £500,000 in competency assurance, training and new equipment over a two year period the company is now ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and IRATA registered. This level of accreditation guarantees that all QHSE management systems undergo an intensive audit every six months.
OHSAS 18001, the internationally-recognised assessment, is awarded to companies who take stringent steps to protect their workforce and actively promote health & safety in the workplace while the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards testify to the company’s strong quality and environmental management performance.
Dron & Dickson was also one of the first companies to be part of the FPAL (First Point Assessment) Verify Scheme.
Dron & Dickson is dedicated to minimising the environmental impact of its operations which are frequently reviewed to make sure they meet all relevant UK, European and International legislation that apply to activities both on and offshore. The company also maintains a high level of awareness raising activity amongst employees and integrates environmental management into its training programmes.
As licensed waste carriers, Dron & Dickson meet waste management standards laid down by The Environment Agency and The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA). Dron & Dickson hold the IRATA accreditation for providing the highest level of rope access experts. The accreditation is recognised the world over as the leading competency body for companies involved in rope access services.
IRATA approval means all competencies and training for projects can be done in-house giving the company much tighter control on quality and also assures clients of the highest safety standards.
Mr Maver said: “Rope access is a safe, cost effective method of working in areas that are normally inaccessible and where scaffolding would normally be used.
“Gaining IRATA membership gives us complete ownership over the competency regime needed to be able to work at the highest level and lets our clients know how seriously we approach training and health and safety issues.”
