Dundee women up for top charity and business award

Claremont Office Interiors made the news this week with an article in the Dundee newspapers.

The article was as follows;

Two Dundee women have been nominated for a prestigious business award for their outstanding work on a charity

fundraising scheme. Roz Martin from Macmillan Cancer Support and Anne Stewart from Claremont Interiors (A&H) Ltd

are up for the top accolade for their combined efforts to raise money and awareness for Macmillan. They have been

short-listed in the Best Business-Charity Partnership category by the Association of Scottish Businesswomen awards.

Roz, Macmillan’s fundraising manager in Dundee, said: “It is such an honour to be nominated for this award, especially

jointly with Anne who had been fantastic. She has got Claremont involved in fundraising for Macmillan, and has also

been amazing at introducing me to other local businesses and getting them signed up to raise £1000 to mark our 100th

birthday. It would be fantastic to win the award, however just being nominated is a great honour.”

Claremont Office Interiors has pledged to raise £1000 for Macmillan by holding a curry tasting event at Dundee

Technology Park in partnership with the Wooden Spoon Catering Company and participating in the Big Fun Run 5k in

September. Claremont will also hold more events during the remainder of the year. Anne also helped Roz sign up 3

charities to raise £1000 for Macmillan in 2011 and hopes to help us sign up even more local firms this summer.

Anne said: “Macmillan is a great charity, I am delighted that my colleagues at Claremont were keen to be involved in

raising £1000 to mark the charity’s 100th birthday. I was really pleased to be able to help even more by introducing

Roz to other local businesses. Being nominated for this award is just amazing, and I really hope it helps us let even

more businesses know how they can help Macmillan.”

Roz and Anne will find out if they have won the award in September at a glittering ceremony in Aviemore.
