Eco weekend at Bon Accord and St Nicholas Shopping CentreA special eco-information weekend will be held at the Bon Accord and St Nicholas Shopping Centre on 14–15 May to help people discover ways to cut their waste and make energy savings. A wealth of energy-saving and waste-reduction advice will be available from Waste Aware Aberdeen, Aberdeen Forward and Energy Saving Scotland – allowing residents to find out how to make simple lifestyle changes to make savings in the future. The teams will be in the centre from 9am–6pm on Saturday and 11am–4pm on Sunday.
Aberdeen City Council’s Waste Aware Team will provide information about local recycling and collection services and have replacement bags and food caddy liners available on the day.
Aberdeen Forward, a local environmental charity, will provide residents with a selection of eco tips, including information on real nappies, reducing junk mail and green volunteering opportunities.
Energy Saving Scotland will offer free, impartial and expert advice on how to help save energy, cut fuel bills, reduce carbon dioxide emissions and help fight climate change.
