Employment law experts Bond Pearce offer free seminar

Employment law experts from Bond Pearce will explain the complexities of issues surrounding holiday pay and sick leave as well as developments in TUPE legislation at a free seminar in Aberdeen on November 2.

There has been some conflict between the Working Time Regulations which say you can’t carry leave over from one holiday year to another and European case law which says an employee has a right to accrue holiday pay during sickness.

“It is therefore a complex issue as to whether and in what circumstances employees on long term sickness absence can accrue holiday pay,” said Bond Pearce partner Jon Hales. “We shall explore the issues surrounding these cases and where the law currently stands at our regular Employment Club in Aberdeen.

“We will also be providing an update on the law in relation to TUPE. There have been some recent developments on circumstances in which TUPE will apply, or not, and we will be explaining these.”

There will also be a question and answer session at the seminar for which places are allocated on a first come first served basis. It is being held in the Albyn Terrace offices of Bond Pearce in Aberdeen and begins with registration and a networking lunch at 12.30pm followed by the employment update from 1 – 2pm.
