Energy Firm's Expansion Could Double Its Turnover

Norfolk based energy industry service provider 3sun Group Ltd, has announced expansion and success in the UK & Europe as it continues to implement its global strategy for growth.

The announcement comes as 3sun, established in 2007, makes plans for new headquarters in Great Yarmouth to nearly double the size of its existing three sites in the region, following the successful award on 4 long term contracts off the East Anglian coast . 3sun also launches new operations in Aberdeen and Norway as the company responds to increasing demand for its services from established customers within both its oil and gas, and wind farm engineering divisions.

3sun group managing director Graham Hacon said: “Through establishing our presence in key strategic locations in the UK and Europe, we are ensuring that we are available to our clients at short notice. 3sun has a reputation for retaining and building relationships with customers through the provision of quality products and services, commitment, highly-skilled personnel, speed of response and flexibility.”

In 2010 3sun acquired a 75% shareholding in Dawson Energy taking it into a new dimension of wind farm engineering, and 2011 saw the launch of a new business division, 3sun Inspection Services.

Mr Hacon continued, “3sun started primarily providing control and instrumentation products and services to the oil & gas industry, last January we moved quickly into the renewable market and in August last year acquired our main competitor Dawson Energy which provides staff technicians for the erection and maintenance on major wind projects”.

“The integration of Dawson into the 3sun group has gone well; we did not take on a static business but one which brought us a additional capability and capacity. We have replicated this successful model with a new revenue stream through recognising agap in the market for turbine related inspection services, I am overwhelmed with the success to date which equates to a 28% increase in forecast monthly turnover and look forward to the foreseeable future”.

In addition to the opening of its new operations, the company has expanded its management team to oversee the growth. Willie Dawson will head up the new base in Bergen, Norway as Operations Director and has been succeeded in Oban by Adrian Macklin, Angela Tosh has been appointed as Business Development Manager in Aberdeen and 3sun Inspection Services is being headed up by Jody Potter as Operations Manager.

Ms Tosh said: “3sun is an ambitious and growing company and I am looking forward very much to the challenges the role will bring. The group has already built a significant reputation for providing a diverse range of high-quality products and services within the energy industry. I am looking forward to helping develop the business much further.”

In addition to the expansion of the management team, a further 35 appointments have been made in the past 2 months which is only expected to continue to grow. It is anticipated the Company will employ over 200 staff by the end of the year from a start up business just 3 years ago.

3sun is exhibiting at Offshore Europe in Aberdeen on the 6th-8th of September and at Renewable UK in Manchester on 25th - 27th October where it will be further showcasing the company’s range of services within the energy industry.

Committed to providing a diverse range of services and turnkey solutions to the energy industry, 3sun is enjoying its current rapid growth and is looking at other acquisitions in the near future to extend its operations even further. 3sun is on target to turnover £15million in 2011.
