EnQuest charity golf challenge raised over £15,000 for CLANGolfers of all abilities headed to Aboyne this week for a charity fundraiser organised by leading UK independent oil and gas production and development company EnQuest. The company has pledged to raise £20,000 for cancer charity CLAN this year, and the corporate golf challenge on 30th June has made a major contribution. A total of 20 four-player teams played 36 holes at Aboyne Golf Club, with players representing a wide range of EnQuest's employees, contractors, consultants and suppliers. They competed for the inaugural EnQuest Charity Golf Challenge Claret Jug 2011 and a host of other trophies and prizes. EnQuest’s newly appointed UKCS General Manager David Heslop said: "This was our first golf fundraiser and have been overwhelmed by the support we've received, with our contractors, consultants and suppliers not only entering teams but also sponsoring different elements of the event. We were inundated with raffle prizes for the day would like to sincerely thank all individuals and companies who have generously donated to our cause "Our goal was to raise £10,000 for CLAN at Aboyne, and we are delighted to have achieved over £15,000, well above our target." The day featured a "beat the pro" challenge organised by Aboyne golf professional Patrick Lovie, who donated his time for the day, and local raconteur Peter Mitchell who made the prize presentations and conducted a raffle.
